Drive and Nature Hike in Fairbanks

Drive and Nature Hike in Fairbanks
Today, we went on a little nature hike through Creamer’s Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge and saw lots of geese. We wandered around the refuge through the wetlands hoping to see a moose, but had no such luck probably because there are many people hiking and running through the area. The moose come out at night when fewer people are around and it’s beginning to get dark. Sunset doesn’t come to Fairbanks right now until just before 8pm. After hiking around there for about 2 hours, we got back in the 2011 Chevy Suburban I’m driving around (an Avis upgrade from the mini-van I had...

Waiting to Board the Flight to Seattle

Heading to Seattle, then onto Anchorage, Alaska where we hope to see the aurora borealis in Fairbanks. The night we arrive, it is supposed to be snowing a little. After that, we should have better weather to see the aurora. Please pray we can see it while there as many days as we are there…5 days. Gotta go!

Going to Alaska

I’m heading to Alaska in two more days taking a group of people from Japan to see the aurora and the Alaskan frontier. We will stay in Fairbanks for 5 days then drive down to Anchorage for another 4 days and then head back to Japan. Hopefully and prayerfully, we will be able to see the aurora at one or many points during this trip. It is our main goal. From Fairbanks, I will drive up into the mountains and around valleys looking for places to see the aurora where there are clear skies. It should be a fun trip! Pray for our safety and for our goals to be reached. Pray that I will also be a good...

Trip to Sendai

The trip to Sendai went well. I will update what happened there later as well as post photos. Most of the photos are already on Facebook. But I have not shared with anyone really much about what we did there. Just know this…there are not enough volunteers to go around to all the cities effected by the tsunamis and earthquakes. The people that live in the areas where the tsunamis hit are the ones that need the most. Winter will be approaching soon, so they will have a more difficult time than they have had this summer. Contact me if you wish to know more or would like to somehow help volunteering...
