This morning, I opened up my computer, cut it on and then started surfing the web sites I normally visit. Upon my first stop by the Drudge, the main story for the day was Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize.

I have to say I was surprised. But after considering how the Nobel Peace Prize process has gone over recent years, it really doesn’t surprise me much.

Jimmy Carter won a Nobel Peace Prize in 2002, Mohamed ElBaradei won in 2005 and most conveniently, Al Gore won it in 2007. With a list of guys like that receiving NPPs for no achievements other than mere opposition to conservative ideology, why should anyone be surprised that Obama wouldn’t receive a Nobel Peace Prize.

Here’s why the Norwegian Nobel Committee gave Obama the prize.

…extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and co-operation between peoples…

Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future.

Anyone else not really all that surprised beside me?

Well, for the most part, the site is up running and a bit cleaner.

I tidied things up a bit by tying sites together making them easier to find and navigate. Hopefully everything will load faster and work better together.

If you experience any problems, please let me know so I can take care of whatever it is right away. Thanks!
